Posted on Mon Nov 21st, 2016 @ 1:15pm by Samanthia Akiashiro

Mission: Shadows and Whispers
Location: SB-332 Main Promenade

Samanthia moved casually down the promenade concourse. She was looking over the various shops and just window shopping. As usual a few of her friends joined up with her to stroll the promenade to chatter about the various happening about the station. They paused now and then to look over the various displays to draw customers into the shop. It was the typical girl talk of who was going out with whom. Who was expecting and Samanthia smiled as she told her friends she was with child and how S'er'in'e, her mate pampered her when his fleet duties didn't call him away from her side.

"I wish my husband was that thoughtful!" One of her friends, Anita spoke up who had several children already. "To get him to do anything is like pulling teeth." Getting a few nods from the Married Ones knowing how she felt.

"I heard there was a new shop opening up over in D Section. I'm dying to check out. The owner is suppose to be making her own clothing to sell." Another of her friends, Joan spoke up. "I could use a new dress for the upcoming festivities. I can't believe it's been 6 yrs since Fleet commissioned this starbase back to active status. Its all my fiancé talks about."

"To bad the Sorjourners ruined the Fifth year one. Everyone was to busy getting ready for war." Sally spoke up who was a bit stockier than the rest. "I nearly lost my mate when they invaded the station."

"It was horrible being stuck in the Safe Rooms. Dark and smelly! Several Ferengis were trying to sell places within the bunker! I had to report them. But only to be shoved into the bunker and the door closed." Another of her friends, Brenda spoke up with a shudder as the group moved on to the next display.

A group of males passing by them, gave the group appreciative looks as one spoke to his partner, "I'm gonna love this duty assignment! Be-yoooo-tia-ful wemen!" Smiling as if he was in paradise as his friends shoved him.

One of the more seasoned veterans of the group spoke up, "3/4 quarters of them are already mated dude!" To the chuckles of his compatriots, giving the more outspoken one more playful shoves.

Samanthia group smiled as they ate up the compliments from the group of males while moving on and continuing their conversations. Even Samanthia ate up the compliments secretly, knowing in a few months, she'll be fat with children. Having gone through it already before and knowing it was only temporary. "Maybe we can hold the festivities in my Lounge. I've the entertainment all lined up and getting new talent with the influx of personnel from fleet and even Civilian specialists. Be a great way to welcome the newcomers and rest of us to get to mingle with them."

"Your place may be big, but it couldn't hold everyone who wanted to attend." One of the Veteran Party Hostess, Y'Vette spoke up. "It would be wise to hold two separate gatherings. Open to all. One for the Fleet and another for Civilians. This way all can enjoy the festivities." She looked over at Samanthia who was her main competitor for major social gatherings.

"We're a community here. Let the people decide where they want to mingle. But lets keep our options open." One of ladies in the group paused in walking and looked both ways. up and down the main concourse they was traversing. There was bars mingled with regular shops and restaurants. "I got a wonderful idea," Helen spoke turning her attention back to the group of movers and shakers of the Starbase; At least the Civilian Side of things. "This stretch of the Promenade would be ideal to host the festivities. This area has more bars and restaurants than any other. Food and drinks could come from them for the Social Affair."

"That is a wonderful idea. Share the wealth." Y'Vette nodded her approval as the area would be big enough to hold the fluidic crowd of people and no one place would get swamped. "I believe we have our place of festivities." Looking to Samanthia to see if she agreed or disagreed.

Samanthia also stopped once again with the group looking both ways and at the business line up on both sides of the wide concourse. With it plants and benches placed at neat well planned out locations down the center. She nodded slowly with a smile. "I believe we found the perfect location for the party. Where should we put up the stage for the entertainers?" Turning her attention back the group of ladies she was with.

The group of ladies smiled widely as the one suggested this Section of the Promenade for the festivities beamed with pride at being able to contribute instead of listening to Samanthia and Y'Vette argue over which place to use which would end up in a vote and none of them speaking to each other for weeks on end.

"It is settled! We have work to do, Ladies!" Y'Vette spoke up as the group began to move on through the Promenade Concourse. "We'll send notices out to these places of Venders and Proprietors of these establishment. "Helen, you alert the station newsies to put out the information on the Social Event." She took charge as they moved on down the concourse. "Brenda, I need you take one side of the concourse to talk with the Owners. Anita, you take the other side. Samanthia you'll provide the entertainment. You have such a way in getting the best. Even if it is local talent."

"That is the only way I can compete against you, Y'Vette," Samanthia smiled at her best friend and business competitor. "We'll block off one end of the Concourse for the stage for the entertainers." As the group moved on down the concourse.

After more chit-chat, the group broke up and went their separate ways. They would begin the preparation of the Promenade Party.
