Time Together

Mission: The Archan Job
Location: Deck 1403 :: SB 332 :: Quarters

Routine began to settle in for Samanthia, being a businesswoman, mother, wife, and student off station. Things were getting a bit tedious as she leaned back from her desk. She was working on her thesis on the Iconian Legacy. Every Sentient Being that had space travel, came across relics and artifacts. Most famous was the Iconian Gates which multi races from all across the universe came to study. Even Star Empires had petitioned and won slots to send their scientist to study and keep an eye on each other so what was found was shared amongst everyone so none could get the advantage in technology and military strength to upset the now enjoyed peace each enjoyed. There was more out there.

She stared out the viewport into the vastness of space, letting her mind ponder over what had happened to the Iconian Empire. While Miranda played quietly with her dolls at her mother's feet. She would love to get out there into the vastness of space and pay a visit to the El Aurians vast archives. If anyone knew of the Iconians, it would be them.

She carefully slid the chair back to stand getting Mariah's attention. With her daughter watching her, she ambled into the kitchen area and began to fix a light snack for the both of them as S'er'in'e was working once again late with Fleet business. But then she reminded herself of times when she had come in late to see Her husband with Mariah curled up on his lap, both were asleep. Him holding some report he was reading and had fallen asleep, along with one big paw-like hand of his resting on her possessive like with the sleeplike expression of pride. His Pride. The only thing missing was his female at his side or at his feet. Even nearby to serve both their whims.

She smiled remembering and even noticing the trimmer, sleeker physique that one couldn't get from sitting behind a desk the long hours required. Just as she wished to be out amongst the stars on some distant planet. Digging into the soil to expose some forgotten civilization treasure trove. Whether it be technology or treasure vault laden artifacts and relics.

As she fixed both of them a light yet filling meal, she debated the pros and cons of being a wife and mother or single living on the edge while out hunting down some clue that led to the next step in solving the great Iconian Mysteries. But even closer to home was the Sphere of Jarble. Myth, Legend, and or fact? Iconian or some other ancient civilization that visited Archa? But only thing that came close was what the Archians had in their archive vaults was a very close replica of the real thing.

The shift was long and overran slightly as he caught up on reports and events. His new Operations based position kept him busy but the plus side to it was it was quicker to return home. Armed with two padds on which contained reports of surrounding activity reports in the nearby regions he'd catch up on them later. When he walked in and the doors closed, he sighed, the welcome embrace of the sanctuary.

Placing the reports down he turned to see Samanthia waiting but Miranda padding her way out from near her mother's feet. Dropping to his hands and feet taking on more the feline look than upright he looked upon Mariah a few purred exchanges and then S'er'in'e sized up his little foe. To him, it was amusing to see Mariah be threatening, growling in her soft voice, tail up, her little fangs on show. Truly a fearsome foe indeed. His hand easily dwarfed her little head and upon reaching out he pulled her to him and pretended to nibble upon her belly. Her little giggles, her arms, and legs flailing as she tried to push his large head away.

The door opening closing barely registered upon Samanthia's consciousness, but the soft growls of Mariah caught her attention. She turned towards the sounds of her. A smile grew at seeing S'er and Mariah playing with him. She watched for a few minutes seeing things were fine. She moved towards the pair. It was a rare moment for the three of them to be together. Not wanting to break up father-daughter time, she moved back to the food and began to make a larger meal for S'er'in'e of the same meal they were having. Maybe this was her destiny to be a mother till her daughter move out on her own to find her path in life. Then with S'er'in'e along, they could go hit some of the more famous archeological finds.

She placed the meals on the table, smiling at S'er and Mariah, hating to break up the time they spent together as it was rare enough. Him being Fleet and her running a popular hangout up on the Promenade. She had a steady presence in her daughter's life than he did. Letting the scent of food draw attention instead of interrupting. It warmed her heart to see them together. She sat at the table to watch while daydreaming of her contribution to the field of Archeology.

After a moment more the fun stopped as the waft of food tugged at the attention strands. It smelt good and so lifting up and carrying the little one with him he saw his Mate sat at the table. "Let's eat." He spoke placing her into a chair before seating himself. "Is everything alright my Mate?" His voice soft and gentle, laced with feline inflections.

Eyes snap to focus on S'er'in'e with a growing smile. "Everything is wonderful," Samanthia spoke with warmth. "Just a little debate with myself of which I wanted more. Family..." Eyes shifted to take in Mariah playing with her food as while taking bits and pieces to eat. "Or hopping from one planet to the next, after the illusive find that add more knowledge of the instinct races that came before us. But this wins every time over being lonely and trying to run roughshod over others to get a bit of the pie so to speak."

Samanthia smiled at him with warmth, "Have you ever thought of what it would be like if you hadn't chosen Starfleet over Cait?" She was curious as to his response.

"I would no doubt be on the Homeworld serving in some capacity or the Defense Force." Which were his two main choices as he grew up. "I admit to missing the Homeworld but leaving it for Starfleet would deny me the experiences of things beyond its reach." S'er'in'e answered as he considered his answer. "May I ask why you ask?"

"Was curious." Samanthia reached out with her free hand and patted his forearm. "The path not chosen get me wondering is all." She looked at Mariah looking contently sleepy, and her meal had a little bit left and scattered on her plate. Looking back at S'er'in'e. "Can you get time off to spend a few days on planet? There's a chance that we could get an invitation to a showing of a private collections of relics and artifacts. It's one of Elder Raphael's clients."

S'er'in'e thought but briefly on the request before he answered. "When, My Mate?" It was not that he didn't have the leave but he'd have to put the request in to the Captain promptly. Knowing that such an invitation would be an extraordinary opportunity for Samanthia and he passions all too well.

"I'll have to ask Raphael when it going to be." Samanthia wrinkled her nose a bit in thought. "Probably sometime next month. I'll get the exact date from him." Knowing this will make Rapheal's day. It'll increase his prestige with a major Archian client and few others to have an entourage other than majority of employees.

Samanthia stood up and picked up Mariah to get her cleaned up from the meal. "It'll do us some good. And some time away from the little one." As she removed Mariah's bib and tossing it next her plate. She placed Mariah in her playpen to play till bedtime, and herself time to make the call to speak with Raphael. She quickly made the call and began making arrangements to be part of Raphael's group, planet side for the showing off the Artrex Collection.

"Are you sure my presence will not cause a problem?" S'er'in'e asked. "I am not Human, I know my entry into Raphael's realm was troublesome and his fondness of you plus l am Starfleet." The last thing he wanted was to cause any kind of problem that might in any way jeopardise her future aspirations. Though he would go because his mate wanted him there, he'd put her wants and needs first before all else.

"Just dont wear anything obvious Fleet, nor Marine. If asked what you do. Tell them you're an administrator with certifications as a pilot on the Starbase 332. Which will be the truth." Samanthia smiled as she returned to give him a hug from behind, resting her chin on his shoulder. "Plus you get to be my bodyguard, eye candy and all them good things that being a mate to me." Whispered into his closest ear. "Three weeks from now is the event. Raphael wants you to carry a concealed weapon. Your choice of course."

"I come with my own weapons." He knew Samanthia knew that also considering what he was the claw and fang were hard to conceal and take from him. "Will there be many females in his party?" S'er'in'e asked trying to plan ahead for what potentially could be a difficult time with the mixed scents and proximity of others to himself.

Samanthia gave a soft giggle at his remark about having weapons. "Mr. Artrex is a very wealthy and important man on Archia, I'm sure there will be many females of varying ages with their escorts." Samanthia spoke straightening up and moving to clear the rest of the used dishes from the table. "When he shows off his collection, it's an event no one wants to miss."

"Then I would like you close to me, I would not wish to cause a scene if the proximity and number of other females causes me a problem with mingle scents." S'er'in'e sought not to create a scene and yet hoped his Mate could understand the delicate nature when the scent of others and many of them in close proximity for a time. Yet still, he hoped even with all this, she would be able to enjoy herself.

Samanthia gave pause in her motion, looking thoughtful taking in S'er's sense of smell. "You can smell when a female is in the procreative cycle?" If that was true, S'er'in'e had strong control over his base instincts and nature being around her and other females day in and day out. Even when she went through her monthly cycle and it would be stronger with her since she had taken feline hormones to have a child with S'er'in'e. She gave a small smile as she resumed her trek to recycle the dirty dishes and leftovers. "I'll be close by and within eyesight. Unless nature calls me away."

"I would make for a poor predator if I were unable to detect scents to track my target." S'er'in'e replied. He had noticed Samanthia's scent change since she started taking the medication and both of them were warned of the changes and what to expect. When she said she would be close by it was reassuring, assuming others could keep their hands off of her. "Can I help with anything?"

Samanthia nodded to acknowledge S'er'in'e while taking a glance at Mariah, noticing she was getting a little fussy. "Could you finish up cleaning up Mariah?" She smiled warmly at both of them. This was really nice, even though they weren't up in the mainstream of the station where all the others had residences. At least it was a lot quieter and a lot more decorative when walking the hallways to the central lifts.
