Lost On A Feeling

Posted on Sun May 29th, 2022 @ 2:47pm by Lieutenant Commander Felicie Rivero & Athena Skylark

Mission: A Day in the Life
Location: Promenade

She was wandering the Promenade, the medium-tall woman with the black hair, to the experienced eye, randomly. She was lost, but comfortable with that little fact, because she wasn't panicking. Her dress was relatively muted, a navy blue top with a matching skirt, inch and a half heels adding to her height to make her appear taller with longer legs. The blue tinted glasses she wore were obviously for fashion to go with the blue feather that stuck back over her ear, rather than needed for increased vision enhancement. In complete contrast, the bright red lipstick she wore nearly shouted in comparison, making her a beacon in the crowd.

As she wandered, the woman kept glancing from side to side, the first sign that she wasn't sure of where she was, but she spotted the person in the crowd that could help. Still at more of a casual pace, the black-headed woman peered over the top of her glasses, the emerald eyes finally visible and shining as she approached the blue-uniformed woman with the two and a half pips of a Lieutenant Commander, "Pardon me, madame," She stated in a voice that was so smooth it almost sounded like she was singing the words in a very soft southern accent, "Ah do believe Ah may have gotten myself lost here, and Ah was wonderin' if you might be able to assist me?"

Felicie held up a single finger in the direction of Athena, the universal symbol for quiet, as she turned back toward the officer she had been speaking to. "Secure the docking port and have operations scan the cargo hold. Get a security detail onto the freighter. Have them check the storage crates, full visual inspections. If Captain Gworski objects, he can wait for me in my office."

"Aye Commander," came the response, the younger officer giving a quick nod before casting an uncertain look at Athena and disappearing into the crowd.

With a deep breath, Felicie turned toward Athena, a perfectly polite smile forming as she glanced over the dark haired woman, pulling her own red hair over to one shoulder. "Sorry about that," she apologised. "Now, how can I help?"

“Not at t’all, Commander.” Athena brushed the apology aside, “You are certainly a busy person and Ah do apologize for disruption’ your day. Ah’ve been perusin’ the station for the last few hours and Ah dare say Ah may have gotten lost. Ah’m lookin’ for the housin’ office, because Ah’ve booked a suite for the foreseeable future, and Ah’m also lookin’ for whoever coordinates the entertainment on board this lovely Starbase, if you could be so kind as to assist me?” Traditional Southern courtesy and grace could be felt in her voice.

"Civilian affairs is on the lower deck of the promenade, I can escort you if you like?" Felicie offered with a smile. "It can be a little hard to find, it's easy to overlook. As far as entertainment goes, I guess that depends on what your intentions are. Entertainment within civilian establishments is usually handled by the individual establishment operators, but I'm sure civilian affairs can help you with more information on that as well."

"Ah would greatly appreciate the escort, Commander." A broad and bright smile crossed Athena's face, "While Ah'm sure that some of the smaller establishments would enjoy my presence, and Ah'd be more than happy to accommodate them, Ah will admit that Ah'm used to a larger audience much of the time." She used an expansive gesture that was necessarily shortened given the limited space they had, "Ah fancy myself a bit of a singer, but Ah didn't want to limit myself to a planet or anythin', and besides, Ah've got a bit of a soft spot for the Fleet and would love to put on a couplea concerts as part of the USO project for ya'll!"

Felicie raised an eyebrow slightly. She definitely appeared to be a character, that was for sure. "I'm sure the crew would appreciate that," she replied cautiously. "Anything outside of the civilian areas would need clearance from the Commanding Officer. I'm sure the civilian liaisons can work with you to set up what ever it is you wish to do." She stepped to the side and motioned for Athena to start walking down the long winding staircase that linked two decks in the civilian area. Once they reached the bottom, she motioned to the left and continued walking.

Athena had to be careful as she made her way down the stairs in her heels, but she was an expert in that regard, "That would be wonderful, indeed." She admitted, following Felicie from right next to her, "Ah'll have to make an appointment with the Commandin' Officer of the station then, aren't they usually terribly busy?" Her voice grew thick with concern, "Certainly they have a secretary Ah could contact to squeeze me into their schedule?"

"Best bet would be to use the comms system and send a request through to the Command center. Someone can likely slot you into Captain Vonn's books as soon as she has an opening, but you're right, she is rather busy. I guess it isn't easy running a station like this!" Felicie shook her head slightly. "Command is definitely not a path I ever plan to pursue, Security keeps me hopping enough!"

"Ah could only imagine the horrors that could be seen!" Athena fanned herself with a hand as if shocked by the thought of being responsible for the entire station, "Ah think Ah'll stick with bein' just an entertainer! At least all Ah'll have to do is keep people happy, which Ah tend to have the habit of doin'. And Ah do truly appreciate your assistance, Commander, and Ah'd like to offer you a front row ticket to my first performance, if it wouldn't be too much of a bother to you?"

Felicie smiled warmly. "Of course, it sounds like fun," she replied. "This is the civillian services office, they'll be able to help you make sure you get everything settled and squared away. Good luck Ma'am, and welcome to Starbase 332." Felicie added with a quick nod.

"Ah appreciate all of the help, Commander." Athena smiled brightly, "Ah'll have the front office hold it for you." She spontaneously reached out and drew Felicie into a friendly hug, pressing her cheek to the security officer's with an air kiss, "By the way, my name is Skylark, Athena Skylark." She withdrew from the hug, "And it has indeed been a pleasure t' meet you."
