Lucky #4 Turbolift

Posted on Tue Jun 19th, 2012 @ 3:07pm by Samanthia Akiashiro

Mission: The Mystery Men of Mira
Location: Akiashiro Lvl (Deck-1403)

Nyubi "Ned" Akiashiro, Senior Engineer for the Akiashiro Fleet and Level, walked along the dimmly lit corroidors of the Akiashiro Level, past the many wall painting of ancestors dating back to the earliest days of the Akiashiro Dynasty along with the many statues, suits of armor mixed with a wide array of potted plants. He scowled as he traced a powerline that was giving the level problems like the random glitches within the various sencors that watered the plants leaving pools of water on the floor making the carpet underfoot squishy to walk on. Or the lighting to fluxuate by suddenly becoming brighter or completely going dark at odd time.

Even the doors to the various apartments wouldn't close once they open, or close partially leaving a gap open to those walked by to peek inside. Or switch the ventilation system to expell the various smells from various quarters into either the quarters or the corridors. Even though some of them were pleasant and other's down right disgusting.

It even caused at times the central stalk of turbolifts to come to a stop on their level, before continuing on, or the turbolifts to stop on the floor above them or below them if the destination was Deck 1403. Sometimes a person had to climb out of the lift, depending on how it came to a stop to let passengers off.

After replacing several key relays, narrowing down the area that was the source of the problem. He scowled even deeper if it was possible, opening up the panel that would take number 4 turbolift offline. He reached in and threw the switch, causing number four turbolift to come to a stop on the nearest floor and the door would open and remain open till it was brought back online from Deck 1403 switchbox for turbolift 4.

Nyubi opened his repair cart after locking the wheels to keep the cart in place, and began the heavy repairs to replace the faulty computer terminal unit.

All along the route of Turbolift 4, people and fleet personel grumbled about the sudden, without warning, TurboLift #4 went offline. Some of the bolder fleet officers sent inquiries to Station Engineering to inquire why it was taken offline without advance warnings.
