Midnight Emergancy
Posted on Thu Jun 7th, 2012 @ 5:25pm by Samanthia Akiashiro & Lieutenant Commander Melissa Daniels M.D.
Mission:
The Mystery Men of Mira
Location: SB 332 Infirmary
Samanthia woke up suddenly as her stomach roiled violantly and sent her scrambling over her two sleeping partner's nude forms, falling off the bed to land in a shivering heap. They both woke with a start and looked at her, briefly, watching her fight to her feet and rush to the bathroom to expell what she had eaten in an extremely violant manner.
The two Ritorians looked at each other, suddenly made themselves scarce. Stashing their extra gear they didn't immediatly need into the stack of crates in the Apartment's storage room.
She lay there on the cool tile floor of the refresher, feeling weak and extremely tired as another violant tremor rocked her. She called out weakly, "Medical Help to Akiashiro Quarters!" She lay there very feverish, shivering and sweating.
The Computer routed the plea for help to the Infirmary, alerting those on staff to respond to the medical emergency.
Melissa and a medical team finally beamed into the quarters. The doctor immediately noticed the sounds. "Samanthia!" She said as she moved to Samantha's side.
The Doctor began to scan Samanthia and then loaded a hypospay to settle her system.
Samanthia hugging herself as the temors faded away, allowing her to move to a more comfortable position. Eyes abit bleary with excess moisture.
Melissa spoke, "Samanthia, you're having an allergic reaction. I've given you something to calm your histamine levels, but I'm going to have to admit you. I won't know what it is until I run some tests." The Doctor's ears then picked up some quiet walking. "Hold it you two." She said before the Ritorians could leave.
The two froze and glanced at each other, looking abit worried, but soon looked very calm at the Federation Medical Officer calmly.
"What are you two doing in Ms. Akiashiro's Quarters?" Melissa asked. Her eyes were dead center on theirs. And for a just a moment, it seemed as if those eyes were piercing the Ritorians souls.
"We've been invited to share her apartment and I'm ..I mean we're her lovers." Rigel spoke calmly and soothingly to the stern Starfleet Officer, which was obviously a doctor. "Will she be okay?" Breaking eye contact, looking over at Samanthia surrounded by the few medical personel, taking samples and prepping her for transfer to the infirmary. "I'm an Archeologist and we're studying Iconian sites within this sector and she invited us to share her apartment while staying here on the Station 322."
Mikki watched, keeping her hands concealed within her robes sleeves, being quiet and letting Rigel do the talking. Eyes darting over the assembled group, appraising the newcomers.
Melissa spoke, "Ms. Akishiro's had an Alergic Reaction. It almost killed her. I need to find out what caused this, and quickly. I need the both of you to come with me to sickbay." The doctor turned to her staff. "I need everything in these quarters scanned."
The two disguised Ritorians glanced at each other, "We'll walk there." Rigel spoke up quickly, watching the medical staff that was tending to Samanthia, prepping her for transport, one broke from the group and began scanning as ordered. "Please take good care of her. She has found great fondeness within both of us."
Samanthia fell unconscious as the sedetives took hold, allowing her to relax as much as possible under the influence of the alien aphrodisiacs.
"We've used them on others without them falling to harm." Mikka spoke softly and slowly to be more fluent in human language, not the usual Sector Galatic Trade Speak. Hands hidden in the loose folds of the sleeves where the weapons were concealed, but powered down to avoid detection.

Several hours later.
---
Melissa entered Samanthia's room. "Feeling better Samanthia?"
Samanthia woke up in the dimmly, yet well lighted room of the Infirmary, looking towards the feminine voice of the Doctor. Nodded in agreement and acknowledgement.
The doctor spoke, "I went over your quarters, what you ate, and your Ritoran friends. I've found your allergy." She noted. "One of your Ritoran friends ate Varesean Cabbage for lunch yesterday. More specifically a type of Varesean Egg Roll. You're system didn't agree with it, and your histamine levels went through the roof. Nausea was a common symptom of it"
Samanthia sighed softly, "I should've recognized Varesean spices they use for their recipes. Thormariez Spice always causes a violent reaction." Blushes abit, "I-i didn't want to seam rude to my guest by denying them from treating me out to dinner."
Melissa responded, "By the way Samanthia, you have a very large family. I've been getting calls all morning from at least fifteen different people all with your name." She smiled.
Samanthia returned the smile, "If you could, please let them know you've done an excellent job and will be well compensated for it. I tend to one of their minor enterprizes here on the starbase, besides shipping merchandise and supplies. If you're really busy, just let me have access to a communication device, so I can let them know personally."
Melissa responded, "That may clear up my message board quite a bit."
"When will I be released from here?" Samanthia smiled softly up at Melissa as she relaxed on the bio-bed.
"As soon as the Baryon Sweep on your quarters is complete. I'm not taking any chances, I don't want to chance you coming into contact with any more allergens and repeating what happened last night. Is there something you want me to have moved before they begin?" Melissa noted.
"I have no living things in my apartment. So it should be safe to do so. I'm sure Rigel and Mikki... my house guest," with a smile that they're are more than mere aquaintenances. " Will probaly found another place to stay till I've leave here."
Melissa spoke, "It shouldn't be long Samanthia. You'll be out in time to open the Warp 12 today, and I'd like my usual table as well." The Doctor noted.
"Consider it done with complimentary drink and meal on the house," Samanthia spoke with a warm friendly smile, relaxing to get at least some sleep before vacating the Infirmay. "Oh! Before we both forget, let me contact the Akiashiro's so you wont be bugged by them clogging up your comms."
Melissa responded, "Of course, I'll have the console set up."
Tamarue Akiashiro came bustling into the Infirmary, "You there!" Demanding as she pointing her small well manicured finger at the nearest Orderly. "Take me to Samanthia-Chan! Chop chop!" The five foot, one inch woman with sharp oriental features with a slightly frosted jet black hair stood there in her bright lime green kimono with black swans in flight amidst cattail rushes and lily pads and sandals that had wooden slats raising her one inch off the ground and only part that contacted the floor. Several retainers had a bunch of hydroponically grown flowers in small vases that emitted a soft perfume to the air around her.
Melissa responded, "Well, it looks like you have visitors Samanthia." The doctor responded with a smile. "
As Tamarue was sent in the proper direction, Smanthia gave a soft giggle, "Yeah it was wise to allow her to see me. I was married to her only son who joined starfleet." Turning to face Tamarue and her entourage, "Greeting Momma Tamarue. This is the doctor Melissa Daniels. The one who treated me and did an excellent job," Getting the serious look over by Tamarue, then it was the Melissa's turn.
"I'll talk to my husband to bring decorators to improve this place's decore! And you must definitely do something about that antiseptic smell that premeates this place!" Directing her entourage to place the flowers with in desired locations by pointing and snapping her fingers.
"Samanthia kept a straight face with a twinkle of merriment in her eyes, watching all. "It was just a serious allergic reaction to some chemicals of a certain spices." Turning to Melissa, "This is Tamarue Akiashiro, First wife to Rapheal Akiashiro." Turning to Tamarue, "Mama-San, This is Doctor Melissa Daniels, One of the stations finest Fleet Doctors."
Tamarue nodded with a sage look. "Well met. At least she was seen by a female doctor, even though she is still pretty young to be one!"
Melissa responded. "Why, thank you Mrs. Akiashiro." She took it as a compliment. "So, I imagine that you want to know what happened?"
Tamarue nodded, glancing at Samanthia who would under play the incident.
"Your daughter had an allergic reaction to Varesean spices" Melissa noted. She thought it was prudent not to mention the Ritorians until Tamarue had calmed down a bit.
"Not Samanthia! She runs the finest Lounge, Social Club on the station!" Tamarue looked briefly worried as she glanced at her daughter in law.
Melissa responded, "People can develop Allergic Reactions, Mrs. Akiashiro. With enough, or too much of, a certain spice, chemical, or even a certain kind of pollen." She continued. "There are several anti-allergens I can give out. I like exotic food as well. Some of it can be a little dicey for humans."
"Hmmmruphmmmftd!" Tamarue glanced at Samanthia, "You should listen to the Doctor, Samanthia-Chan! Watch what you eat so you can live along time!"
Samanthia sighed softly, nodding to Tamarue's lecture on eating right. "Mama Tamarue, Shouldn't you be seeing to family matters?" Hoping to side track the firey Oriento woman.
Tamarue turned back to Melissa, "She dont listen to me like a good daughter should! Maybe you can knock some sence into her?" She was smiling softly, liking the challange that Samanthia brings to the family. "I'll definitely talk to my husband about getting improvements done here. Is that all that wrong with her?"
Melissa spoke, "That's about it." She said with a smile. She watched as Tamarue left.
Tamarue left with her retainers, pointing out things she would concider improvements as she exited the Infirmary.
"I thought that the little thing with the Ritorans need not be mentioned." Said Melissa. "Mothers have a way of blowing things way out of proportion. Even now I'm getting to know mine again." Melissa realized she shouldn't have said that.
Samanthia nodded, "I appreciate it," Giving Melissa a smile of appreciation. "I know the feeling at times." Speaking softly with concern, "Must've been a real doozy cause you to be seperated from your mother." Motioning Melissa to have a seat now that they was alone and things were peaceful again. "Is there anyway I can help? Even if it's just listening."
Melissa thought for a moment. "Would you like to hear a story Samanthia? If you do, then you must keep it to yourself."
"only way anyone will hear of this is if you tell them yourself, Melissa," Voice soft with sincerity and a soft warmth of a close friend.
"There was a colony that seemed like heaven. Woods, Crisp Mountain Air, Meadows. It was like paradise." Melissa noted. "However, one day, a treaty was signed that angered the residents of this colony. They felt they were being handed over to a brutal and vicious race by those who swore to protect them." She noted. "Some didn't like this treaty, and they formed something called the Maquis. But there were others, who had a different idea of how to destroy their enemies."
Samanthia nodded, having heard of the Maquis and had dealt with various factions of them during the Cardasian/Dominian war. Her expression harden abit at hearing the word "Maquis", but then softened again just as quickly as if her expression hadn't changed as it was very quick. "I know a brief history of the Maquis," softly to let Melissa know that she was familiar with the term.
Melissa spoke, "These cruel people decided the Maquis were too crude in their methods. So they made a terrible decision. They created assassins to dispose of those who threatened the colony. The called themselves Broken Spear" Melissa noted. "And they found a young woman named Kris Valtan to train as one of their agents. They did terrible things to to this woman. They programed her, like a machine, to be completely merciless. To follow orders and kill without a second thought."
Samanthia nodded, making small sounds that she was listening and showed concern, openingly studying melissa as she talked.
"Kris became their most skilled operative, but with each one, she felt guilt. She destroyed some very evil people Samanthia, but with each one, a little bit of her died as well. Finally, the mental programing broke down, and Kris Valtan simply died within her own mind. What was left of her was lost and broken, She had to find a way to start over again." Melissa noted.
"Soooo... was she lucky in finding a way to start over?" Samanthia spoke softly with concern and abit of curiousity.
Melissa smiled, "There is a happy ending Samanthia. This woman wandered, alone and forgotten, for some time, before meeting someone named Dr. Richard Daniels." She noted. "He had saved her life when she tried to end it right then and there. He was a masterful doctor, who became a doctor after Wolf 359."
Samanthia smiled warmily, realizing that Melissa was talking about herself, reached out and gently grabbed her arm, "I'm sure this young woman is finding that helping others has it own rewards of being able to look at others, knowing that when they look at her, she is a wonderfull asset to the community in making it stronger and a warmer place to live in." Giving Melissia's arm a gentle pat as she released it. "Thank you for being here tonight," softly with warmth.
Melissa nodded, "Thank you for listening to my story. It's somewhat bitter-sweet one. But some stories are like that. The happy part usually comes at the end of the book. The part that says, 'and she lived happily ever after.'"
Samanthia gave a derisive snort and soft laugh, "I wish that was true." muttered more to herself as she looking up at Melissa with a warm smile, "I'm happy for you in finding a niche that makes you feel worthwhile and gives you something to look forward to each day. Not many people can say the same. Any lucky man in your life?"
Melissa smirked, "Really Samanthia, my luck with men is horrible beyond all reason. Knowing my luck, I'll end up marrying the next person who is brought in here on a stretcher."
"Don't rush into a relationship, Melissa." Samanthia spoke softly to her with friendly warmth. "It's better to have tons of friends to get to know and enjoy life with, without the hassle of being restricted to one lover. And whose to say you have to stick with the opposite gender?"
Melissa nodded. "Take care of yourself Samanthia." She held up a lollypop.
Samanthia laughed softly, taking the lollypop, "you too..." And leaving the Infirmary to head back to her apartment.
