Mission:
Vagrants, Vagabonds, and Thieves
Location: SB-332
IC::
: Promenade :
Samanthia moved gracefully through the promenade's main corridor, checking out competition. She was walking along, greeting various business owners. Even spending some time with them. She looked around and moved on. She was wearing an outfit that stood out from the mainstream and style of what the other people were wearing.
She was wearing something from the Victorian Age of Sol-3, but the hemline was a lot shorter, since it ended just an inch above the knees. And the neckline would've scandalizes her at the time the style was created. Her dark black hair had bluish highlights as the light hit it, tumbling down to mid back. From the civilian and a lot of Fleeters either greeted her, vocally or nodded and waved to her as she passed them. She greeted them by first name bases as she was greeted, by either Sammy, Sam, Samanthia, Miss Akiashiro.
Sivity had practically stormed out of the Security office. The desk work was proving every bit as odious as she recalled from the academy. Her team did what they could to mitigate the burden, but even Sivity couldn't off load everything.
Before long, she'd calmed somewhat. The mere act of walking with purpose help to dissipate some of her frustrations. By the time she hit the Promenade, she was in full patrol mode. Ostensibly, she was ambling and taking in the sights. In actuality, she used her provocative and impractical attire to deflect attention. Few that weren't familiar with her took her as a legitimate threat. Thus she rather ambled along, already headed towards the more esoteric item vendors. She'd decided that she needed to augment her luck. She needed a stone that would work well within the specific confines of the star base. Her existing stones clearly needed recharging.
No one greeted the beautiful Andorian with the high silken white pony tail and abundance of fetishes and charms. Her tall, spike heels clicked as she made her way along the concourse. Yet whilst no one spoke, few missed her passing and many heads turned to watch her alluring movements from behind.
Samanthia backed from between some vender's kiosk and bumped into the Andorian. Turning quickly, grabbed the Andorian Lady to prevent her from falling. Eyes quickly took in her apperance. Eyes widen in surprise as she spoke, "I apologize for bumping into you." Letting her go once she seamed more stable.
The surprise encounter immediately had Sivity reaching for her phaser. The conciliatory attitude of the woman who'd collided with her was sufficient to dissuade her from discharging the weapon. Her 'go to' response to most unanticipated events was still violence. Andorians were renowned for it and she was no exception to that rule. What galled her most was that her senses hadn't picked up the woman's incautious approach.
What was the point of having antennae if they didn't give you fair warning? It was a redundant question as she knew full well. She possessed eyes and ears too and could just as easily miss valuable information. She attributed the mishap to her preoccupation with locating the luckstone. Sivity studied the woman carefully. She checked as discreetly as she could that she'd lost nothing to deft fingers. After a rather uncomfortable pause wherein it seemed that she wasn't going to speak, she smiled sweetly and replied.
"No harm has befallen me. Your apology is accepted." She had a soft voice, but a firm grip of her phaser.
Sivity was again very grateful for her high heels. Without them the woman would have towered over her. At least, that was how Sivity perceived things. Still smiling, she smoothly replaced the phaser.
Samanthia had frozen in the sudden appearance of the phaser, remembering that Andorians have a quick hostile response to being touched. Once the situation wasn't going to turn hostile, Samanthia returned the smile.
"I haven't seen you about the station," Samanthia spoke. "Nice ...huh... accessorizing." looking at all the beads and feathers and odd ornaments the Andorian was wearing. "Either you're undercover Security or part of the local gangs." Appraising Sivity, looking warey at her. "Which would be my duty to report you. So what is it?"
"I am in uniform." Sivity responded somewhat indignantly. However, it was easy to see why that would be missed. Only her torso was covered by regulation attire. The numerous necklace charms and ear rings readily distracted from it, as did the bangles and charm bracelets around her wrists. Those coupled with her spike heeled boots and short - actually, very short skirt would undeniably lead most to miss her rank. "Ensign Dar-Barriun, Security." She elaborated. "And who has just bumped into me, if I may ask?" Her tone wasn't very friendly, but then she was still struggling to overcome the frustration of the day's office work.
Samanthia looked closer, eyes narrowing a bit as Sivity talked. Then her wary look relaxed into warmth of friends, "I'm Samanthia Aikishiro of the Akiashiro Merchant Consortium and Clan. Also run the Warp 12 Lounge." Eyes twinkling in merriment. "Stop by and I'll get you a free drink." Seeing she was still tense from what ever day she was having prior to meeting her. "Need some place to work off your frustration?" Smile widen a bit more, as the eyes lose some of their warmth. "And I don't mean the holodeck either."
Sivity relied on her acute senses to be an effective Security operative. However, she knew the importance of dynamic security. Samanthia certainly seemed to know her way around, but then, most people did compared with her inexperienced knowledge of the star base. However, it was the prospect of working out her frustrations that clinched it for her. She hadn't realised how tense she was until that offer was made.
"Sounds interesting." She replied only a little cautiously. I'm game, but I really must find a new luck stone. Do you know of any decent lapidaries in the vicinity?"
Samanthia looked thoughtful at the request, "There is Nigs," pointing in the direction, where she backed out from. "In Sector D, there's Hart's, Then Victor's, but she is hard to catch and doesn't operate off these decks though." Smiles softly. "I hope that helps ya out." Hoping she avoids Nigs. It's rare for that Ferengi to have anything good to sell.
"Thank you. Nigs seems closest. I will try there. So, what are the options for venting frustration here, that doesn't involve a holo-deck?" Sivity replied. She was conscious of the looks that the pair of them garnered from those passing by. She wasn't sure if they were due to her own 'unique' appearance or Samanthia's notoriety. Perhaps it was a combination of both. She resolved to remember the woman and look her up on the database upon her return to the office. Of course, the chances of her actually doing that were slim. Sivity's office skills were abysmal.
