Mission: Ill Tidings
Location: Archa IV :: University City
Timeline: P: 1846 hrs

Samanthia waved bye to Rolphord as she stepped away from his vehicle. She still felt the afterglow of their time spent alone in the apartment. He would be a very nice catch if she wasn't so busy with her Lounge and Bar on SB-332, her newest quest and the university courses. She watched him pull into traffic and disappear from view as she shifted her pack to hang the straps over one shoulder. Spinning on her feet and taking off towards the vast library complex.

She could feel the tingle of being on the verge of something exciting. Her eyes sparkled in the early evening light. Even the yelling of various students sounded delightful upon her ears as she passed them lounging on the grass. She getting a wave from some of the students that shared classes with her, which she returned with a smile.

Even the birds were chirping like one of those fairytale scenarios you see on the children's vids. Only this was a moment in real life to be treasured as she made her way to the gloomy vaults of the University Archives.

Samanthia gracefully scampered up the steps, with er plan running through her head to 'borrow' several of the older tomes she had marked for her more leisurely study. She pushed the well oiled doors open and left the warmth of the sun for the cool dry even year round temperature of the interior of the library.

She approached the Librarian at the desk, "'Ello, may I have access to the Archives again please." Keeping her voice soft and low as in reverence of being someplace sacred.

The librarian nodded and grabbed a set of keys from a drawer. Stepping from her little island of circular desk, Librarian motioned her to follow her as she headed into the silent rows of shelved tomes of past authors both great and small to share the wealth of knowledge through the eons of time.

Samanthia followed, shifting her pack to prevent from thumping against the shelves laden with books. Speed reading titles as she past the rows of book, seeing if any of them would catch her interest. But nothing did as she was focused on her mission of purloining several book from the archives.

Soon she was down in the inner vaults and basement rooms of the Archive. She smiled her thanks to the Librarian as she forged deeper into the dimly lit rooms. She weaved through the maze of shelves and various small open places designed for studying of the tomes without removing them from the premises.

Once she was left alone to look over the books and various media for her research, she quickly found the book she was looking for. She quickly placed the book carefully in her pack after wrapping it up in an old sweater that was laced with metallic thread to fool the scanners and the Librarian if they checked. It was just a matter of getting past the scanners without setting them off. Even the most sophisticated machinery could be fooled by the most simplest things.

Once the book was secured, she wandered the maze of isles to burn time. Even stopping the card index that held information on finding books within the confusing labyrinthine ways of the archives. Who knows what gems you can find and by just being curious and looking into the most oddest places.

After a few hours of killing time, Samanthia slung the pack on and headed on out of the Archives into the library proper. She paused in her journey towards the exit to let the Librarian know she had left the Archives. She watched the Librarian disappear into the row of books.

Taking advantage of the absence of the Librarian, she walked through the scanners and on out of the library, without a chirp from the scanners. She breathed in the cool nighttime air as she moved towards the public transport stop. It was quiet and the area was lit up with the occasional lamp.

Just as she reached the sidewalk along side the street, a familiar vehicle pulled up next to her. "Hey, going my way, Miss?" Rolphord voice came from the vehicle.

Samanthia smiled, recognizing Rolphord and got into the vehicle, "Timings impeccable," smiling at him as she removed the pack and sat it in her lap.

He gave a soft chuckle. "I was in the neighborhood," Making it look like he just arrived, when he was waiting for her to show up. "Want to get something to eat?" As he pulled the vehicle away from the curb.

"Love to." Samanthia smiled. "A fast food joint would work nicely." Pointing to a burger joint with a drive through.

He nodded as maneuvered the vehicle into the burger joint's lot and parked. Both got out of the vehicle and approached the restaurant together. It was one of those companionable silence that adults have when they're confident about themselves as they entered the place with a bunch of rowdy teenagers. They looked at each other, "Maybe this wasn't a good idea?" They both spoke at the same time, then laughed.

Samanthia shrugged, "We're here already." She continued on. The place falling quiet as they weren't privy to the dealings of teenagers. But having a good idea of what's being said was pretty much the same thing they went through as teenagers.

Rolphord nodded as they approached the order place at the counter, "What you'll have?" As they gave the big menu a posted above the employee work area.

"I'll take the six with a strawberry shake." Samanthia ordered. Being familiar with it as Rolphord nodded and ordered for the both of them. Paying for the meal and getting it to go.

Within minutes their food was ready and they was on their way, leaving the teenagers with something new to talk about.

They cruised the strip munching on their finger foods and slurping away their drinks, reminiscing about their teenage life.
