Forward the Brave

Mission: Communication Breakdown
Location: Sojourner Communications Planet/Comms Station
Timeline: Current

[OLD]

After some hours on thrusters the shuttle landed at their designated LZ in good order, all but the Pilot and two marines disembarked, then the shuttle lifted off again and headed directly to the dark side of the planets moon to wait. Naomi looked back at her troops from the departing shuttle.

"Okay marines you all know your duties, I want at least two guarding this area, remain hidden but watchful, she then looked to the Captain "Captain S'er'in'e you will know when the time is right to come to our aid" Then just to clarify mainly for herself; "that time will be when you can hear weapons fire, I am changing orders slightly; *pause* if your team encounters any hostiles take them out silently, we cannot afford to take prisoners, so put rifles onto silent firing and use knives and such where applicable, any questions?" Griffiths said as she crouched with her marines.

"None Major." Her orders were hard to get incorrect and a notion he shared in her orders, prisoners could not be taken and thus had to be dealt with.

Looking at her team, "Okay Omega move out, Alpha I have an extra task for you before you do your Cavalry act *pause* Send out at least two scouts to see if they can capture an enemy scout, the more information you guys have will cut down any losses" Griffiths intoned.

As he had expected the plan was changed once again, only this time despite being ordered to take no prisoners, he was now being ordered to take one for interrogation. Changing plans on the fly as he was concerned was a risky proposition at best, there was no certianty that they would locate a scout nor if they did any information would be retrieved. There was also a risk that a scout could be bugged and get himself caught to expose the enemy base. A trick he used during training against his supervisors. "Understood." And he did at that, as he saw it he had to send out two scouts, an additional two men from the 10 advanced recon teams he planned to use for early warning, a scout was meant to stay hidden and observe, these two scouts wouldn't have to search long before being recalled.

Were Humanoids always like this when it came to plans and combat?

She did a double-take at the Captain's expression, so she felt the need to explain.

"Captain, I said what I did, because you will need all the advantages when doing your cavalry act, it would be illogical to assume the Sorjourners will not be looking out for more infiltrators after my Squad makes its presence known"

"I am aware of that Major, this is not my first combat engagement." S'er'in'e replied. He understood her need to be clear, and her orders were just that but he wondered if like others had she was underestimating him because his training and majority of experience came from the Homeworld and not SFMC. "I understand the orders given to me and what I must do."
