In the Drunken Mugato

Posted on Mon Oct 17th, 2016 @ 6:46pm by Kemara Ral Daughter of the Fifth House of Betazed & Lieutenant Commander Tyler Vorran & Lieutenant JG Liam Harrison

Mission: Brave New World
Location: Starbase 332- Promenade- The Drunken Mugato

Kemarra had been busy with her new home all day. Being so consumed in that work she realized that she needed to leave for a little while.

She was dressed in a cream coloured skirt suit with as many gold accessories as she could find. The beautifully aged Betazoid woman strode along the Promenade, her heeled shoes clicking on the floor in time with her stride. She peered in shops and restaurants she walked the the main drag.

Finally, she decided to pop into a Bar and have a drink, thinking it might help put her at ease.

Tyler was excited to have a night out with Liam. He wore a grey shirt with a leather jacket and black jeans.
They sat quietly at a table in a dive bar they discovered called The Drunken Mugato. It seemed to attract a rougher crowd than Alexanders, the interior was a bit darker, drinks stronger, and there was a stuffed Mugato just inside the entrance. "Babe, what would you like to drink?" Tyler asked.

Liam looked around at the bar for a quick second before looking back at Tyler again. Liam was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans as the two were off duty for their first night on the Starbase. "I'll have whatever you do," he told Tyler with a smile before taking in his surroundings again.

Tyler smiled and headed towards the bar to get their drinks. The pulsing music growing louder as he got closer to the bar. When he got to the bar the blue liquid in the well caught his eye. "I'll take two of whatever is in the well." He said to the bartender

The bartender nodded and poured two glasses of the blue liquid. "Its Warp Core breach punch, I put an entire bottle of saurian brandy in there so take it slow." The bartender said. Tyler nodded and made his way back toward their table with the blue liquid.

The Drunken Mugato was not a place you'd expect to see someone like Kemara, especially dressed as she was. However, the Betazoid woman actually enjoyed the charm of the dimmer, more divey places. As she entered she looked around, taking in the entirety of the bar in one swift survey. She approached the bar and ordered a small casque of Klingon Bloodwine.

Turning from the bar with a casque and a single mug in hand, she looked around for a place to sit. There weren't many places available but she found a small table next to, what appeared to be, a young looking couple. She smiled at the young men as she sat, and cracked her Bloodwine and poured a healthy portion into her mug.

Sitting back, Kemara took a long sip and tuned her ears into the conversations going on at the table next to her.

"Awesome, thanks," Liam said as he took the glass from Tyler's hand. "This looks...interesting." Liam was always up for trying new things. He had a wide smile on his face as he raised the glass in a toast. "To us. And our new beginning away from those crazy folk."

Kemara raised her Mug in unison with the couple. "Deities know I couldn't agree more!" She offered a warm smile to the pair.

Liam turned his head to the woman sitting at the table next to them and gave her a smile. "Another poor soul looking for some sanity in this Quadrant?" he asked the lady.

"Who's to say there's any left?" Kemara's smile grew. Taking a large gulp, she set down her mug. "Kemara Ral, Daughter of the Fifth House of Betazed, Defender of Blessed Circlet of El'nar and Guardian of the Holy Scrolls of Jalara." She offered a look of embarrassment. Although she was proud of her heritage and her titles, many other species found the adages pretentious. "I'm afraid the titles are a step larger than the woman. " She forced a laugh. "My friends call me Mara."

Liam smirked at the woman, hearing her title. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mara," Liam told the woman. "My name is Liam. That's Tyler." Liam looked at the woman, and seeing she was sitting all by herself, Liam offered, "Why don't you join us?" As he waited for her response, he looked at Tyler to see his reaction.

Vorran shrugged. "Might as well meet new people, its a big station." He took another swig of the potent blue drink.

Kemara picked up her miniature barrel of drink and moved to join the men at their table. She smiled he most sincere smile. "So what are you boys celebrating?"

Vorran smiled looking at Liam. "We're celebrating a new beginning."

"Are you new to the Station as well?" She asked, filling her mug with Bloodwine and taking a hearty swig.

"Just arrived today," Liam told the woman. "So far, it's a wonderful place. Very spacious. I think it'll be a nice place to spend a tour." He took a sip of his drink and looked at the woman. "Our last assignment was on a small Nova-class ship. Not many amenities on a ship like that, and not much privacy either."

"I can imagine!" She said swigging again. "I never served on a starship, but whenever Starfleet was contracted to ferry me around I found the ship's rather barren and devoid of life." She shrugged, hopping not to have offended them.

"Yeah, and especially if the Captain's a bit...not a nice person..." Liam told the woman, taking another sip of his drink. He was sure to catch himself before he went off on a full rant, but he still had some built up anger that would take some time to dissipate. "Anyway, that's the past. So, what are you doing on the station?" he asked the lady, giving her a smile.

"Retiring." She said triumphantly, slamming her cup on the table. "But I will admit to being a bit bored."

"I don't think you will be bored for long on this station." Vorran replied smirking

Kemara filled her cup."I've been entertaining the Idea of opening an old fashioned Betazoid Tea Room." He winked and took a long sip of wine.

"What is a Betazoid Tea room?" Vorran asked glancing at Liam

She looked around, "A far cry cleaner than this place but with a similar purpose.People coming together over a slew of alcohols." She raised her mug and a bit of wine spilled over the side. "Here, here." she bellowed.

Vorran taped his glass to Ral's. "Cheers."

"You know, you two make a lovely couple." She said candidly, as the bloodwine went to her head.

"Why thank you," Liam told the woman with a wide smile. "We'd like to think so," he said before he took a sip of his drink. "What about you? Is there a Mr. Ral?" he asked.

"There have been several." She said giggling. "My current husband is a Vulcan man.T'Lor." Her eyes fluttered slightly at the thought of her husband. She did miss him dearly.

"And where is he tonight? Will we get the chance to meet him?" Liam asked the woman. He noticed her reaction to his question, but he couldn't quite read what she was implying. He meant no harm, but often times he was too curious for his own good.

"Sadly my husband'ls mind is quite sought after." Kemara said with a sickly smile. "He's on Earth currently, preparing a diplomatic delagation for a ship called London." She looked flustered. "Deities be damned, I'd almost forgotten! He'll be calling soon." She said jumping up from the table. The truth was, T'Lor hadn't called in weeks, or returned her letters. She feared he had found another, but was unable to admit it to anyone.

She swayed a bit but steadied herself. "Such Beautiful boys!" She said, perhaps too loud, and grasping Vorran's ear and beaming at Liam. "You'll have to visit me sometime.I think I have a Housewarming coming up." She searched her thoughts. "I'll have my girl send you invitations." She smiled widely, and turned from the table. As she made her way out of the restaurant, she made a show of waving to other patrons.

Vorran's eyes went wide as his ear was assaulted like a Bajoran Vedek once did trying to feel his pagh.

Kemara's voice carried through the establishment as she exited. "Ta Ta!" She called.
