Ten Little Diplomats

Gul Narek Kenta stepped off his warship, though he was there for what the Detapa Council called 'Negotiations'. He hoped that the Federation would give more concessions along the Cardassian Border if he just played to the expectations of the Federation Diplomats.
Gunning kept his eyes firmly on the approaching bulkhead. The awkwardness in their exchange up until this point had been palpable. He was unwilling to say anything much beyond the obvious. "It's a pleasure to have your delegation aboard, Gul Kenta. I must say we were surprised that the negotiations were arranged so far from Cardssian territory."
Gul Kenta smiled somewhat of a predatory smile, "Well, aren't you charming. Unfortunately, I am neither in the mood for flattery. I simply wish to get this conference over with as soon as possible Captain. Tell me, have my other counterparts arrived yet?"
"Yes, they have. Our fighters escorted them to the station a couple of hours ago. Have they not been in contact with you yet? That seems quite inefficient. Not terribly... well... Cardassian."
Gul Kenta huffed. "Hmph! Figures. I would've preferred the Cardassian Union before the war broke out to the disgrace we have today. Why, back then, if one of my subordinates were late, I had plentiful options of disposing of them. Why I could even have them and their entire families branded as Federation spies and tried in the most heart-wrenching public trial one could see." He explained. "But now, politicians rule the stars. How quaint." Gul Kenta began to walk. "Where is my quarters? I am rather famished, and I never like to conduct concession negotiations on an empty stomach." He asked of Gunning.
Gunning passed the man a PADD with his quarter assignment attached to it. "If you follow this corridor and ask the turbolift for that deck, that will see you to the guest quarters. I'll see you as far as the turbolift but I should really be getting back to ops."
As Gul Kenta walked, his breath began to get harder. Suddenly, his hands reached up to grab his neck as he began to turn blue. He was choking to death and enduring hard muscle spasms. He dropped to the ground as the spasms continued. The Cardassian's face turning blue.
Ensign Erin Manning, the security guard posted to the Cardassian as he was shown to his quarters, immediately rushed forward. She had stayed behind for the most part to leave the captain and his new friend (cough) to their political posturing, but upon Kenta's drop to the ground, Manning forgot that ruse in a heartbeat. She kneeled at his side and looked up and around at her surroundings before tapping her commbadge. =^= Security to medical, we have an emergency on the promenade, Gul Kenta is suffocating, cause unknown, =^= she said as she lifted the man's head toward her slightly to try and alleviate the pressure in his chest. She was a trained security officer, but she was no medic.
Doctor Daniels spoke, "This is Doctor Daniels, I'm on my way."
Manning looked helplessly up at the captain before she decided that her boss should be notified as well. As the medics rushed toward them, Manning took the time to tap her commbadge again privately. =^= Manning to Lieutenant Tieran, Gul Kenta just collapsed on the promenade. Medical just arrived but there was a reason you posted me here and it looks like that reason might be coming true. =^=
Security officers, always expecting the worst.
=^= On my way! =^=
Tieran appeared on the promenade with a flank of medics behind him and paused in front of the captain. "What's going on, sir?" he asked, hand unconsciously wrapped at his side next to his phaser.
"He collapsed," The Captain replied looking around the corridor, "He was just talking and then started choking. It was unprecedented."
Melissa knelt down and scanned the Gul, and after a few seconds, she shook her head and sighed. "He's dead."
Gunning took a look at the corpse and then back at the doctor. "What the hell happened to him? He was fine about a minute ago!"
"I'm picking up a cornucopia of stimulants, alcohol, and other things I don't have names for." Melissa noted. "I do not have a COD based on these scans alone. I can only say that something triggered Hypertonic Spasms that blocked the airway, and then, Cardiac Arrest. I don't know if this was the result of a poison or an acquired allergic reaction."
"How soon can you find out?" The Commanding Officer asked the doctor before turning to Lieutenant Tieran. "Lock the Cardassian delegation down. Keep them under constant guard until we know that there's nothing more sinister going on here, okay?"
"Aye, sir," Davik replied as he peered at the Cardassian. "I want scans of every air ventilation system and filtration system as well as a detailed analysis of everything he ate and drank today. If you find anything in the vents, run it against a comparative scan of Cardassian physiology. If it was an allergic reaction we will find it," he spoke rapidly to his underling, who nodded eagerly up at him.
"I will go to his quarters and begin running a toxicological report on his belongings and anything he may have ordered from the replication unit," he suggested to the captain.
Melissa spoke, "We have a bigger problem. If this man is a diplomat, then he's protected by Diplomatic Immunity. I can't do an autopsy on him without the authorization of the Cardassian Government. And if the family requests his remains, I cannot deny it." She stated. "My hands are tied until that authorization comes, and all I can give you is what my medical sensors can pick up."

He smiled as he prepared the sedative. It was a slow-acting sedative, and usually, it would take several hours to take full effect, but when it did, it would stop someone's heart during their sleep. He smiled as the hour passed. "And one chocked his little self, and then there were nine." He laughed a bit. "Gul Kenta, you are going to spend eternity in hell for both Seltek III and Dyris VIII. Next up, Ambassador Caroline Meyers. I imagine I should commend you for your dedication, in leaving the federation's colonies defenseless, with a handshake."
He placed the sedative into a ring, which had been configured to act as a hypospay. The drug would be injected into the Ambassador upon the handshake. "Nine little soldier boys... sat up very late." He said as he placed a small figurine of a Napoleonic soldier in an envelope. Being careful not to leave too much trace evidence on it. Security needed something to keep themselves distracted.
