Nine Little Soldier Boys Sat up Very Late...

Posted on Sat Nov 20th, 2010 @ 1:31pm by Lieutenant Commander Melissa Daniels M.D. & Captain Alexander Gunning

Mission: Ten Little Diplomats
Location: Starbase 332, Docking Port, USS McKinley

[ON]

The USS McKinley had just arrived, and Ambassador Meyers, and her attache, emerged from the ship. "... and inform Commander Wallace that if he does not do as instructed, I can ensure that he's bumped down to cadet." Meyers stated in mid-conversation. For anyone who knew her, she had the demeanor of Dr. Lewis Zimmerman, and she was instrumental in the Demilitarized Zone talks before the war.

Gunning inhaled sharply through his teeth. He had met the Ambassador a couple of times when aboard the Heath and had, on those few occassions, run full-force into her tempestuous nature.

"Hello, Ambassador. Allow me to welcome you aboard Sta-"

Meyers interrupted, "Spare me, Captain. I am here to get this over with. The trip was long, and I am exhausted. I would prefer to get my rest before I have to deal with the Cardassians." She walked at a brisk pace.

Gunning merely motioned to her to go on ahead as they strode towards the turbolift, making sure Lieutenant Tieran and his teams were keeping up.

"Ugh!" Meyers said in disgust. "Must you have so much security Captain? I already have enough security following me around."

"As you know Ambassador, security on a station this size and for an Ambassador of your importance is unlikely to be any smaller than five men. Isn't that right Lieutenant?"

Davik stepped forward out of the fray and gave a charming smile, tilting his head calmly. "Aye, it is, ma'am," he said, directing his response to the woman. "As you should be aware, the security teams that are following you around are likely the people who have kept you alive for the duration of your career. We don't intend any intrusiveness, ma'am," Davik said with a small bow of his head. "Simply safety. Your life is worth a couple men following you about, I think."

"Just make sure I don't see them." She walked forward at a brisk and impatient pace, until she ran into someone who had come around the corner with several boxes of chinese food and wearing a restaurant uniform. The Chinese Food covered them both, and they both fell to the floor. The Delivery man spoke, "I'm so sorry, I'm sorry. Here, let me help you up." He too the woman's hand.

"Don't touch me you clumsy idiot!" Meyers erupted as she stood and brushed herself off, her anger appearing. "I might have a little talk with your supervisor later, and get you fired." She stated before she stormed off.

The man spoke, "Great, first day on the job and I mess up orders, and now I trip into ambassadors. This is it, I've had it with this lame job." He walked away from the mess just as quickly.

Davik turned his face into his shoulder to stifle a smile, before he returned to his rigid posture, hands clasped behind him to follow the woman as she continued to be escorted through the promenade.
